Sleep Stories: With Nikki
Meet Nikki Clarke, from Northland New Zealand. Nikki is (super)mum to 4 babes: Caden (4 years), Ryan (3 years), Kace (21 months) and Jackson (2 months) and is the owner of Cadenshae.
What were your first thoughts and feelings after your baby was born?
Absolute bliss mixed with an overwhelming feeling of 'how do I do this'?
Did you settle quickly into a routine with your baby? If so, do you think it worked well for you?
My routine was basically no routine. With all my babies I have just kind of gone with the flow and let them lead the way.
How soon after your baby was born did you begin to swaddle your baby?
We started swaddling right from the get go. I think they love that cosy feeling of being all snugged up. All my babies have love being swaddled so for Jackson we just did the same thing.
How did you come to know about Love To Dream™?
Oooh, that is a hard one. It was back before I had Kace, I think I saw it on Instagram and thought "I NEED THAT!!!"
Do you feel like using the Love To Dream™ range of products has made a positive impact on you and your baby's sleep?
We have loved using the Love To Dream™ range. I found that both Kace and Jackson settled a lot better when they were wearing them and it was a lot easier than having them always wriggling out of the swaddles blankets I wrapped them in. It definitely helps them feel content and makes our lives easier too, that's for sure!
What is the one thing you wish you'd known before you became a parent?
How much sleep you actually don't need, and how much you can get done in a short space of time. I could have achieved so much more before I had kids if I had really applied myself like I do now when I have a spare few minutes to work!
Three words to describe life before parenthood and three to describe life after becoming a parent?
Before kids: relaxing, wayward, lots of sleep!
With kids: love, crazy, meaningful.
What is the one piece of advice you’d offer new parents or parents-to-be?
Don't listen to other peoples advice! LOL!
